Wood Fireplace Questions

Seasoned wood with low moisture content is best.  You can purchase a meter to test the moisture in your wood.
This depends on how much you use it.  If there’s more than 1/4 inch of soot in your fireplace then it should be cleaned.  Shiny soot (creosote) should be cleaned ASAP to prevent a flue fire.  The National Fire Protection Association recommends, “Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances.”
This depends on a range of factors, generally speaking, a wood fireplace can be installed in as little as a day, or several days to a week at most.  For a precise estimate speak to a member of staff.
